My name is Larry Dickinson, and I am the proud owner of Sight And Sound, located in Fredericton.
I come from a background in broadcast media. At the young age of 13, I began working at a small New Brunswick radio station during weekends while attending school. After completing my education, I took up various roles at several private radio stations, such as CJCJ Woodstock, CKCM Grand Falls Newfoundland, and CFNB (Radio Atlantic) Fredericton. I served as a Program Director, Announcer, Music Director, and Production Manager.
In 1991, I transitioned to CBC Radio and Television in Fredericton, working as a Radio Master Control Technician, Information Morning Technician/Director, Announcer, and Producer. With the closure of numerous CBC Master Control Rooms nationwide, I shifted to CBC television, where I held positions as an ENG editor and Assistant Director for the CBC-TV supper-hour news. I retired from CBC in 2014.
Over forty years ago, I founded Sight And Sound as a weekend wedding photography service. As wedding videos gained popularity, I transitioned from still photography to videography.
Throughout the years, I have expanded Sight And Sound by introducing various services, including 8mm film transfer, videotape transfer, CD-DVD duplication, photo and 35mm slide scanning, short promotional video production, and more. Additionally, I capture photos and videos and edit them for our MyNewBrunswick.ca website.
